Your data, in plain words.
Salin Labs ("Salin", "we") follows the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and its rules. This notice explains what we collect on salinlabs.com and why.
What we collect
- When you join: your email, whether you're a student, teacher or professional, your course or field, the offer you picked, and (optionally) your name and school.
- When you take the quiz: your score and which questions you missed. No name or email.
- For security: a scrambled code made from your internet address that changes every day, so we can stop spam. We don't store your actual address.
- A small cookie that unlocks the free starter pack on your device. It contains no personal details.
Why we use it
- To give you what you asked for (starter pack, teacher access, your reserved price, workshop details).
- To email you about Salin only if you ticked the box for news. You can unsubscribe anytime.
- To keep the site safe from spam and abuse.
Our legal basis is your consent, and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure. We never sell your data.
Who else handles it
- Cloudflare hosts the site and stores the data, and runs the "are you human" check.
- PayMongo handles payments if you pay. We never see your card or wallet details.
- Google Fonts delivers the site's fonts, which shares your internet address with Google.
How long we keep it
Sign-up details are kept until 30 June 2027 for this early-access period, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first. Quiz results have no personal data.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, download or delete your data, object to its use, and withdraw consent. Email privacy@salinlabs.com and we'll reply within 15 days. You may also complain to the National Privacy Commission (privacy.gov.ph).
If something goes wrong
If a data breach affects you, we'll tell you and the National Privacy Commission within 72 hours of finding out, as the law requires.
